China was epic
the coolest place was the temple of heaven b/c in the courtyard all of the people hanging out would ask if you wanted to play hackysack with them (or the chinese equivilant, you kicked a thing with feathers on it back and forth) this one guy on a bamboo flute saw the crowd of americans and played jingle bells for is and we lol'd.
then we went to a pearl shop, jade shop, the summer palace, a museum, played at their military base, the forbidden city, the silk alley (a shopping place), and the great wall.
if you could make it up to the top of the great wall, then you were considered a true hero, but with my terrifying fear of heights, i stopped at the first of five towers because i knew it would take me forever to go back down.
my friend made it to the second tower, then turned around because she wanted a t-shirt.
